STOCKEXTM on the other hand represents each stock’s respective ability to create wealth in reference to NIFTY as a benchmark. It is assigned to more than 4,000 stocks individually on a daily basis.

For example, as on 01 Feb 2013,
STOCKEXTM for Marico Ltd = 14.03, ING Vysya Bank = 1.66 where as STOCKEXTM for NIFTY = 1.00

Please note that STOCKEXTM is a live index of wealth creation measured daily for over 4,000 stocks whereas STOCKEXTM for NIFTY is always rebalanced to 1.00 incorporating any up or down moves of the market. Therefore, it represents how each stock has fared as far as capital growth is concerned in comparison to globally known benchmark.
